TESTIMONIALS

The building that is now The Historic Windsor Hotel Bed and Breakfast was built in 1884 and opened as the New Windsor Hotel. It was a miners’ hotel, providing a place for the silver miners to stay, until the Sherman Act made silver mining unprofitable. When the miners moved to other towns to mine gold, the Windsor became a boarding house for many years. Eventually it became simply a family home and remained so until 2013. In 2014 it became a bed and breakfast, allowing guests to enjoy stepping back in time and immersing themselves in our authentic mining town.

The Historic Windsor, located just two miles west of Georgetown, has 4 guest rooms, 1 with a twin bed for a single, 2 with  full-size and 1 with a queen. You can soak in the claw foot tub or shower away the days’ aches and dust, enjoy breakfast, visit with other guests or watch your favorite TV program in the breakfast room/lounge, or spend time on the balcony overlooking the town and canyon for early morning coffee, a glass of wine in the evening, or just to enjoy the view. There is a continental breakfast (included in room prices) so that our guests can hit the slopes, trails or roads when they choose and free WIFI.

We hope that you find it a nice blend of the old and the new!

Please note that we are pet friendly! Service animals and well-behaved pets are welcome for a flat fee of $20.00. Pet limit of 2 pets per room.

"Lauren and Michael are great rare people. I pulled over from Ritz-carlton in Vail area heading back to Denver. Man. Felt so comfortable. Will stay over Ritz anytime. Can't say enough."

"People like you, who naturally go above and beyond, make this world a better place for all of us. Thank you so much."

"Dear Lauren, Michael, Spencer, Grant, Nano, Jake,
As I think of my first trip to Colorado, you and your family are way up on the list of wonderful memories! You've opened your home and your hearts to myself and Alan. Its no surprise that Alan enjoys the Windsor each year. You shared a home away from home for us both. You children are precious, and absolutely adorable. Sharing delicious meals and great conversations define great people and friendships. We can't thank you enough! You shared a sacred moment of your time with us when time is filled with other things—Family Time—We are forever grateful to you both for your kindness & friendship. Look forward to next season!"

Love, Patty & Alan
